NCAA Baseball Louisville Super Regional weather delay: When Louisville vs. Miami will resume

The Louisville Super Regional has been delayed due to inclement weather. As of this report, Louisville leads Miami 8-1 in the bottom of the eighth inning. Louisville has two outs and no runners on base.
Weather also delayed the game’s start time today. According to The Weather Channel, thunderstorms are expected to continue in Louisville until 9 p.m. ET. The two teams could be stuck waiting for a while to conclude the game.
The Cardinals have enjoyed a comfortable lead for most of the outing. They took a 2-0 lead early against the Hurricanes, and only built on their lead. Their scoring run was highlighted by a five-run third inning, which included Louisville junior Jake Munroe‘s second home run of the day.
Munroe entered the game on Friday with nine home runs this season. He transferred to Louisville this past offseason after being named a 2024 NJCAA All-America Third Team at John A. Logan.
Munroe hasn’t had any trouble adjusting to Division I play. He boasts a .338/.455/.560 slash line this season, and has 52 RBIs. His fielding hasn’t always been as stellar. Munroe has 35 putouts this season but 13 errors, as well.
Louisville is two wins away from its first Men’s College World Series appearance since 2019, while Miami would be reaching its first College World Series since 2016. The Cardinals were the No. 2 seed in the Nashville Super Regional, where it outlasted No. 1 Vanderbilt, No. 3 East Tennessee State and No. 4 Wright State.

Louisville went 3-0 in the Regional, as did Miami. The Hurricanes outlasted No. 1 Southern Miss, No. 2 Alabamaand No. 4 Columbia to take the Hattiesburg Regional.
These two programs are two of five ACC teams still remaining among the final 16 teams. With Miami and Louisville clashing against each other, the conference is guaranteed at least one team in the Men’s College World Series.
Fellow ACC member North Carolina got off to a great start earlier on Friday, as it downed Arizona 18-2 to take a 1-0 lead in the Chapel Hill Super Regional. Although they both hail from the same conference, Louisville and Miami did not meet in the regular season.
The Hurricanes lead the all-time series between the programs 12-11, as they took the lead with an 8-5 win over the Cardinals in the 2024 ACC Baseball Tournament. Now, it appears that Louisville will even the all-time record again on Friday, barring a jaw-dropping Miami comeback.
