NCAA Baseball Clemson Regional weather delay: When Kentucky vs. West Virginia will start

Weather in the area has caused a delay to the start of the Clemson Regional with first pitch of the opening game originally scheduled to be at noon eastern at Doug Kingsmore Stadium. Now, we have a better idea of when that regional will start this afternoon.
No. 2 West Virginia (41-14) vs. No. 3 Kentucky (29-24) was set to start at 12 p.m. EST before being moved back an hour or so to approximately 1 p.m. EST on ESPNU. However, this one was then significantly delayed with the grounds crew having put down the tarp on the field. Two hours after the original start time, though, the newly announced start for this game is at 2:45 p.m. EST/1:45 p.m. CT with it streaming on ESPN+.
This report will be updated further pending new game time
As of now, there’s no word on how this will affect the start time of No. 1 Clemson (44-16) vs. No. 4 USC Upstate (36-23). That one is still scheduled for 6 p.m. EST on the ACC Network for the time being.

The Clemson Regional is among the more wide-open regionals, if not being the most wide-open one, to be played in the 2025 NCAA Baseball Tournament. According to the PEARatings, the Tigers, this weekend’s host, has the highest odds at 46.2% followed by the Wildcats at 23.6% and the Mountaineers at 18.8%. The projections at College Baseball Insiders have it slotted the same way with slightly different numbers as Clemson is at 40.7%, Kentucky is at 32.9%, and West Virginia is at 21.1%.
Kentucky is looking to advance to a third-straight appearance, after making the CWS last season, while Clemson and West Virginia are both looking for second consecutive berths in the Super Regionals. The winner of the Clemson Regional this weekend will go on to play the winner of the Baton Rouge Regional, featuring No. 1 LSU, No. 2 Dallas Baptist, No. 3 Rhode Island, and No. 4 Little Rock, in a Super Regional for a right to go to the College World Series in Omaha.
