Nick Saban hilariously compares his 8-year contract to Dabo Swinney's, Kirby Smart's 10-year deals

Last month, Nick Saban got himself a new contract when he signed a new eight-year deal with Alabama. But Thursday, Clemson signed Dabo Swinney to a 10-year deal and Georgia agreed to a 10-year contract with Kirby Smart in July.
On his radio show Thursday night, Saban didn’t miss an opportunity to crack a joke about Swinney and Smart getting those types of contracts.

“When I got an eight-year contract, everybody said, ‘Wow, that’s the longest thing,'” Saban said on “Hey Coach and The Nick Saban Show” Thursday. “Now, everybody gets a 10-year contract. I’m still stuck on eight, but that’s alright.”
That led to a question from host Chris Stewart about how long Saban wanted his contract to be. He sure sounded like someone who wanted to be in Tuscaloosa for a long time — but he’d be fine with multiple short-term deals instead of one long-term agreement.
“Eight’s fine,” he joked. “I’m just happy to have one for one more year. Just keep the one-years coming.”
