As a quarterback for the Arizona Wildcats, Noah Fifita has played in some iconic stadiums from both the former Pac-12 and the current Big 12. Still, there’s an SEC venue that would be his dream to play a road game in. That’s Death Valley.

Fifita represented Arizona at Big 12 Media Days. There, he appeared on Always College Football and spoke with Greg McElroy about the upcoming season. That included sharing the road venue that has caught his attention from a distance.

“I think I got to go with LSU,” Noah Fifita said. “Play at Death Valley at night. I’ve heard a lot of stories about that place. Heard it shakes a little bit. I’ve heard if you stand at the 50-yard line you can smell all the whiskey in the air. So, that’s the one I would choose for sure.”

McElroy, a former Alabama quarterback who has played at Death Valley before becoming a commentator who has called games there, laughed. He went on to jokingly add that he’s not sure Fifita actually wants to head to Baton Rouge for a night game against the Tigers.

“You think you want it at night? Maybe 2:30,” McElroy joked. “I don’t know, bro. At night, it’s different… We did an Auburn game there one time. It kicked off at 8:00. Bro, it was — you thought you’d smell whiskey. I mean, that was one of 15 different alcohols you smelled that night. It was a big night down on the bayou.”

Certainly, LSU’s Tiger Stadium, better known as Death Valley, has one of the fiercest reputations nationally. Holding better than 102,000 people, it has become one of the most difficult places to play in the country. Even the EA Sports College Football 26 knows how tough it is to play there. In the video game, it’s the third-toughest place to play, though LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier even thinks that’s too low.

“Don’t even get me started. There’s no place like Death Valley at night, first off. Kyle Field is loud, I’ll give them that, but it’s not Death Valley,” Nussmeier said.

“The Swamp is loud, but it’s not Death Valley. For us to be three… I don’t want to piss EA off, because I want my rating to be nice, so shoutout EA Sports for bringing the game back. I’m not mad, I’m just saying. If you’re updating the player ratings, maybe come to one more game and maybe you can update the stadium rankings. Maybe you’ll change your mind.”

As of now, Noah Fifita won’t have the chance to play at Death Valley. There is a world where the Wildcats make the College Football Playoff and have a road game at a hosting LSU. However, there’s a long way to go before that’s even a possibility.
