North Dakota State cornerback William Frattalone has been dismissed from the team, Bisons coach Tim Polasek said in a statement to FOX 9 TV. He was arrested for theft over the Fourth of July.

Frattalone is accused of stealing a duffle bag which contained a $228,000 Rolex watch, according to FOX 9. It also included thousands of dollars in cash. He is facing a count of felony theft of property valued at more than $35,000.

In light of the incident, Polasek released a statement confirming Frattalone’s dismissal. Polasek added he will not be allowed to re-join the team at all as a result.

“William Frattalone has been dismissed from the NDSU football team for a violation of team rules,” Polasek said. “He was not part of the 123 players for fall camp and will not be considered to re-join the team in any fashion.”

According to FOX 9 TV, a criminal complaint filed Aug. 27 stated Frattalone was on a boat at Minnetonka Lake when he allegedly stole a duffle bag. The boat was docked outside a restaurant at the time. Records obtained by FOX 9 show the bag contained a Rolex watch, approx. $25,000 in limited edition clothing and a $400 bottle of cologne. It also included between $5,000 and $10,000 in cash, as well as items such as AirPods, a passport and flash drives related to work.

Frattalone is not in custody, according to FOX 9. He is due to make his first court appearance Sept. 11 on the theft charge.

In the complaint, the alleged victim said he went on a friend’s boat over the Fourth of July, and Frattalone was also on board. The person stored the bag in a sealed cabin, and discovered it was one when he returned from the restaurant, FOX 9 reported.

An employee at the restaurant allegedly saw Frattalone trying to carry a large bag through the building. Since it was against its policy, he was escorted out. Someone who was also on the boat also allegedly tried to contact Frattalone about the bag, and he responded by saying his parents are “wealthy and would write a check for whatever was inside the bag,” the complaint read.

FOX 9 also reported law enforcement recovered the bag in Frattalone’s bedroom after executing a search warrant. However, they did not recover the watch.

Frattalone began his college football career at Northern Iowa, where he spent one year and took a redshirt before arriving at North Dakota State in 2024. He did not play a game for the Bison after his arrival.
