Orlando IMG Academy four-star EDGE Jake Kreul has five schools at the top of his recruitment and he’s gearing up to take his final four official visits next month. Ole Miss is not in that group right now, but the Rebels are trying to change that.

On Wednesday, Ole Miss defensive coordinator Pete Golding made his way to Florida to visit Kreul, one of the top players in the Sunshine State this cycle. The Rebels are one of more than 35 Power Four teams that have offered the 6-foot-2.5, 220-pounder.

Kreul took his first official visit to Colorado during the first weekend of May. He’ll get back on the road the final weekend of this month to see Ohio State. The next three weekends in June will see him log OVs to Florida, Texas and Oklahoma. Those are the schools currently battling at the top.

“The communication is super-important to me. Early on, someone told me to go to a school that is desperate for you. The communication and how hard schools recruit me show me a lot,” Kreul told On3’s Chad Simmons in November. “That and how the coaches teach means a lot to me. I love ball, so who can teach me will go a long way in my recruitment.”

Kruel opted to transfer from Bishop Moore in Orlando to IMG for his final two season of high school football. As a sophomore for the Hornets, he was an absolute menace to offensive lines. Along with 76 total tackles, he notched 34 tackles for loss and a whopping 17 sacks. Playing alongside tons of Division I talent at IMG, he still managed to total 39 tackles, six sacks and 11 QB hurries in 2024.

He is the No. 39 overall prospect and No. 7 EDGE in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 4 player in Florida.

Ole Miss looking to build on Top-15 recruiting class

Could the Rebels get involved at the top of Kreul’s process? They didn’t make his top 12 back in February, but there’s always plenty of intrigue surrounding Oxford and Lane Kiffin’s program.

To date, Ole Miss has eight commits in its class that ranks No. 15 nationally, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. A Sunshine State prospect headlines the pledge list.

Leesburg (Fla.) Tavares four-star Izayia Williams flipped to the Rebels from Florida on May 2. Also a former Louisville, Syracuse and Florida State commit, Williams still checks in as the No. 51 recruit and No. 3 LB this cycle.

Williams is one of three four-stars in the class, alongside De Kalb (Miss.) Kemper County four-star running back Damarius Yates, a top-150 recruit and the No. 12 RB nationally, as well as Hoover (Ala.) Spain Park four-star wide receiver Corey Barber.

Ole Miss landed two commitments in April via Austin (Texas) Westlake three-star quarterback Rees Wise and Nettleton (Miss.) Tupelo three-star cornerback Braylon Williams. Wise is a top-500 prospect and currently the nation’s No. 30 QB. He plays for one of the top high school programs in Texas.

Niceville (Fla.) three-star athlete Zion Legree has been in the class since November. He rounds things out alongside Williams, Sacramento Folsom three-star wide receiver Jameson Powell and Montgomery (Ala.) Pike Road three-star RB Ja’Michael Jones, the No. 37 RB in the cycle.
