Just over a week ago, USC offered Luc Weaver when he was on campus. Now the On3 four-star wide receiver out of Sherman Oaks (Calif.) Notre Dame has committed to Lincoln Riley and the Trojans. He had a list of offers, and Washington was a strong competitor, but in the end, it is USC, and it was a pretty easy decision.

“There is no place like home,” Weaver told On3. “I am a hometown kid and I get to stay home and play for USC. On Wednesday, when I was back on campus, I knew it. When I got the offer, I thought about it, but I wanted to take a little more time, make sure, and when I got back this week, I made my decision. There is no place I would rather be.”

Elite cornerback Elbert Hill committed to the Trojans on Friday. Four-star offensive lineman Keenyi Pepe announced for USC earlier this week too. Weaver is excited about being part of this class and what Riley is building.

“USC is building something special. I have been over there three times and everyone wants the same thing. Everyone at USC has the same goals. I watched practice and everyone is hungry.

“You see what USC is putting together. Coach Riley’s goal is to win a national championship and he is making it known that it starts with this recruiting class. It is what I want to be a part of.”

Dennis Simmons was a factor. Chad Bowden played a role in this decision. Riley was key too.

“I love coach Riley’s relationship he has with the players,” Weaver said. “His offensive philosophy is a receiver’s dream too. He always has the quarterback as well.

“Overall, the coaches, the culture and players I get to play with made USC the school for me.”

Weaver is the No. 192 prospect in the On300.
