On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine: Previewing massive week of commitments

Commitment season is in full force, as more than 30 prospects came off the board on July 4 alone. The next few days and weeks are expected to be equally jam-packed, with more than two dozen recruits scheduled to make announcements in the coming days.

With the help of the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM), we’ll preview some of the biggest expected decisions.

July 5

4-star IOL Daniel Calhoun
School: Roswell (Ga.) Walton
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 116
On3 RPM: Georgia 93.2%, Alabama 2.4%
The Skinny: Georgia and Alabama have been considered the top two for Calhoun for some time now, but it’s the Bulldogs in prime position to land him.

July 6

4-star CB Miles Lockhart
School: Chandler (Ariz.) Basha
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 340
On3 RPM: Ohio State 97.8%
The Skinny: Oregon, Arizona State and others on the West Coast made a run at Lockhart, but he has been considered an Ohio State lean for months.

4-star EDGE Elijah Rushing
School: Tucson (Ariz.) Salpointe Catholic
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 30
On3 RPM: Oregon 70.5%, Arizona 9.3%, Notre Dame 4.0%
The Skinny: One of the nation’s elite edge players, Rushing took official visits to Arizona, Oregon, Notre Dame and Tennessee last month. But the buzz has primarily been around the Ducks since the spring for the Arizona-based prospect.

July 7

4-star OT Nyier Daniels
School: Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 160
On3 RPM: Georgia 96.8%, Rutgers 1.1%
The Skinny: Rutgers, Texas and Florida State were among the main contenders, but Bulldogs assistant Fran Brown and his connections in the Northeast have Georgia in a strong spot heading into decision day.

4-star WR Aeryn Hampton
School: Daingerfield (Texas)
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 138
On3 RPM: Texas 52.1%, Alabama 43.0%
The Skinny: Hampton named Texas and Alabama as his top two schools in the spring, and those two have been duking it out. This one could still go either way.

4-star IOL William Satterwhite
School: Akron (Ohio) Archbishop Hoban
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 210
On3 RPM: Tennessee 53.8%, Penn State 40.1%
The Skinny: One of the top prospects in the Midwest, Satterwhite has taken just one official visit: a trip to Tennessee last month. He named the Volunteers and Clemson as his top two schools, and Josh Huepel’s crew holds a slight lead as of now.

4-star LB Dylan Williams
School: Long Beach (Calif.) Poly
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 158
On3 RPM: USC 62.6%, Oregon 34.4%
The Skinny: Williams was at one time committed to the Trojans, but after he decommitted they were largely out of the picture. Recently though, USC has made a strong push including working to get him on campus for an official visit in July. However, a decision is expected before that and the Ducks are lurking.

4-star WR Nick Marsh
School: River Rouge (Mich.)
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 120
On3 RPM: Michigan State 77.7%, Penn State 19.9%
The Skinny: Marsh is another former commit who is still heavily considering his old school. He entertained Auburn, Kansas, Oregon and a few others, but this will ultimately be a Big Ten battle between the Spartans and Nittany Lions.

July 8

4-star TE Davon Mitchell (2025)
School: Los Alamitos (Calif.)
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 29
On3 RPM: Oklahoma 95.0%, Alabama 1.3%
The Skinny: Mitchell originally hails from Texas, and the Sooners have been on him since early in his high school career. Miami and Alabama hosted him for unofficial visits in June, but all signs point to OU adding a big early piece to their 2025 class.

4-star OT Marques Easley
School: Kankakee (Ill.)
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 242
On3 RPM: Georgia 87.9%, Tennessee 2.5%, Alabama 2.2%
The Skinny: Easley named a top three of Alabama, Tennessee and Oklahoma last month, but none of those three programs are trending. Instead, it’s Georgia, which hosted him for an official visit and is looking to rack up a massive offensive line class.

4-star DL Benedict Umeh
School: Avon (Conn.) Old Farms
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 64
On3 RPM: Stanford 96.5%, Penn State 1.1%
The Skinny: Academics are of the utmost importance to Benedict Umeh, and he largely considered only top-notch schools. Penn State had some momentum earlier in the summer, but it’s Stanford trending heading into his scheduled announcement. The Cardinal are on a roll over the past six weeks, landing nearly two dozen commitments.

4-star RB Ca’lil Valentine
School: Chandler (Ariz.)
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 348
On3 RPM: Utah 35.8%, Illinois 23.7%, Arizona State 13.8%
The Skinny: It has largely been a three-team race for Valentine since the spring, with the Utes and Illini getting him on campus for official visits in June. Illinois got the last shot at him, which is never a bad sign.

July 9

4-star CB Zabien Brown
School: Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 62
On3 RPM: USC 87.9%, Alabama 5.2%
The Skinny: Brown named Alabama, USC and Ohio State as his top three schools on Monday, but this is seen a battle between the Trojans and Crimson Tide. USC has the proximity to home factor, but Alabama has been pushing hard and might have a better shot than people are giving them credit for.
