Nashville (Tenn.) CPA four-star cornerback Ondre Evans named his top five schools last week, a list that included AlabamaGeorgiaLSUMichigan and NC State.

And now the No. 84 overall prospect in the On300 rankings is ready to announce his commitment. Evans posted on Instagram late Sunday night that he will commit on Friday, June 16 at 2 p.m. ET.

“All five on my list are very good programs,” Evans told On3’s Chad Simmons last week. “They are all sending guys to the NFL. The coaches at each school know how to develop players. I can say I have some better relationships with specific coaches at the different schools, but I like the staffs overall at all five schools.”

As it stands a little more than 96 hours out from his decision, LSU is the team trending to land him in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM). It gives the Tigers a 96.4 percent chance of securing his commitment following an expert predictions in LSU’s favor from On3 national recruiting analyst Sam Spiegelman and a slew of others. Evans is fresh off an unofficial visit with the Tigers, where he received an offer from defensive backs coach Robert Steeples.

He is scheduled to take official visits with Michigan (June 16) and NC State (June 23), but those look unlikely to happen based on his decision timeline.

Ondre Evans discusses his top five schools

Alabama: “I visited once for a camp. I was there for one day. Alabama is a great program and if I went there, I would be coached by coach Nick Saban. That is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Alabama develops players, they send guys to the NFL every year and I really liked working with coach (Travaris Robinson) at camp.”

Georgia: “I like coach Fran Brown a lot at Georgia. He is a real energetic guy, a good coach and he was fun to work with. Then, Georgia wins national championships. Coach Kirby Smart runs a great program, he has a great coaching staff and I like how it is not too far from home.”

LSU: “I was at LSU from Tuesday-Thursday this week, so I saw a lot. The people really stood out to me. There are a lot of good people around the program and the players come back and pour into the program. Then, I worked a lot with coach Robert Steeples. I spent a good amount of time with him at camp and in meetings. We hung out and he is a cool coach. Coach Brian Kelly was cool too. He is laid back, but he holds his players to a high standard.”

Michigan: “Coach Steve Clinkscale develops guys. He is a great coach and he has some of the best in college football playing for him right now at Michigan. We have a good relationship too. Then, you have coach Jim Harbaugh. He is a great head coach with a very good staff there.”

NC State: “NC State has been recruiting me since my sophomore year. That relationship means a lot. I know the whole staff at NC State, I am comfortable with them and that has had them high on my list for a while. I like all the coaches and the defense coach Tony Gibson runs. Overall, NC State is a really good school.”
