LAS VEGAS – The Oregon Ducks and Oregon State Beavers are not scheduled to meet after this 2025 season. However, Oregon head coach Dan Lanning said he is in favor of continuing the Civil War.

“I’m all for it,” Lanning told On3. “It’s a great rivalry. We want to continue playing it.”

Lanning said he welcomes playing a game in Eugene or Corvallis as opposed to traveling across the country. This season, Oregon will travel nearly 5,000 miles round-trip for its first-ever visit to play Rutgers.

With Oregon’s move to the Big Ten in 2024, the Ducks and Beavers were still able to play last season. Oregon defeated Oregon State 49-14 in that matchup a year ago. This year’s meeting is set for September 20 in Eugene. It is the last scheduled game between the two in-state rivals for the foreseeable future, until at least 2029.

Oregon already has its non-conference schedule completed for the next three years. The Ducks’ next opening is not until 2029. Oregon State has an opening for a non-conference game in 2029 as well.

Ahead of the 2024 Civil War game against Oregon State, Lanning noted how much this contest means to the fans.

“This game has been fun for us and our players. I know it means a lot to the fans and we’ve had some good battles with the Beavers the last few years.”

The schools have played 128 times, including every year since 1945. Oregon leads the series 68-51-10 over Oregon State. The Beavers last beat the Ducks in 2022 when Oregon State downed Oregon 38-34 in Corvallis.
