Oregon has a simple mission in mind: get to the Pac-12 title game and exact revenge on Washington, who handed them their only loss of the 2023 season. And they are one step away from achieving that goal with just this significant roadblock ahead of them. Oregon State has an opportunity to play spoiler against their in-state rivals in this year’s Civil War. Should the Beavers upset the Ducks on Friday and Arizona beats Arizona State, the Wildcats will jump the Ducks and face the Huskies for the Pac-12 title.

Oregon State has been impressive all season long and has been one of the best teams in the conference this season. Unfortunately, the Beavers had their Pac-12 title hopes dashed by the Huskies in Week 12 as they suffered their first home loss of the year, 22-20. That loss dropped Oregon State to 8-3 on the season and 5-3 in the conference, eliminating them from contention for the conference title.

The Beavers have had one of the better offenses in college football this season, led by the rushing attack. Entering Week 12, Oregon State ranked number 20 in the country in average rushing yards per game with 196.9 and number 14 in points per game at 37.9. Running back Damien Martinez has led the way in the Beavers backfield with 155 carries for 1024 yards and seven rushing touchdowns.

Oregon has the nation’s top offense in terms of points per game, averaging 46.3 points per contest. They also have the nation’s second-best passing attack, throwing for nearly 340 yards per game. But opponents shouldn’t get caught up on just the Ducks offense, as their defense has played at an elite level this season. Oregon is only giving up 17.1 points per game, which is tied for 13 best in the nation.

Oregon’s offensive success is enlarged in part thanks to the play of Heisman Trophy candidate quarterback Bo Nix. Nix has been shredding opposing defenses this season. The Super senior quarterback has thrown for 3135 yards with a 77.7 percent completion percentage. Nix also has nearly a 15 to one touchdown to interception ratio with 29 passing touchdowns and two interceptions on the season, not to mention he is a threat to take off at any given time, as he has demonstrated throughout his career. This year, he has not carried the ball as much but still has 121 rushing yards for five touchdowns.
