Impatience to see Penn State freshman Koby Howard

Also, the situation with freshman Koby Howard playing on special teams in order to win himself a role on offense has come up again in the chat. BWI dives deeper into the topic during our running conversation thread, but here is what Penn State head coach James Franklin said on Wednesday about the situation.

“Yeah, he loves ball. He’s got a toughness to him that I think is really important at the wide receiver position. He’s got really confident, strong hands, and he’s preparing and going about it the right way with the right energy. So, you know, I think we have a lot of confidence when we need to put him in the game, and when he gets his opportunity, I think he’s going to be ready. So he’s approaching it the right way. He’s controlling the things he can control,” he said.

“And a big part of it is attitude, because a lot of these guys, if they’re not getting the time and reps that they feel like they’ve earned, and you could make that argument, then they sometimes, they get frustrated, they get in the tank, and then they got bad body language and everything else. Then they get the game, and that’s what shows up, right? So he’s handling it well right now, and, you know, at some point this year we’re going to need him, and I think he’ll be ready.”
