Teams have been making a run at five-star Denton (Texas) Guyer safety Peyton Bowen ever since he committed to Notre Dame last winter.

Oklahoma and Texas A&M have been at the top of the list trying to flip him, with both schools getting him on campus for games this fall. But as his recruitment winds down over the final few weeks before the Early Signing Period, there appears to be only one serious threat to the Fighting Irish now.

“He did not show up to Texas A&M for the LSU game, which was expected,” On3 national recruiting analyst Sam Spiegelman said Thursday during the Inside Scoop recruiting show. “It seems to be his recruitment is kind of on hold, but in a way, I think it’s also down to two teams. He’s not going to take any more visits until this playoff run is over, that’s for sure. The family is also getting ready for in-home visits with staffs, and I expect Notre Dame and Oklahoma to be there.

… I think it’s coming down to Oklahoma vs. Notre Dame. I think Notre Dame is in a really good spot with getting him on campus earlier this fall, and I think Oklahoma is too.”
