New Orleans Isidore Newman Five-Star Plus+ quarterback Arch Manning is playing in the biggest game of his career so far Friday night.

And his Hall of Fame uncle Peyton Manning is in the crowd with Arch’s father Cooper Manning to the five-star quarterback play.

New Orleans Isidore Newman is playing Lafayette (La.) Lafayette Christian Academy, the four-time defending state champion, in the Louisiana state Division III semifinals. The two faced off in the state semifinals last season as well.

If New Orleans Isidore Newman wins the game, Arch Manning would accomplish something his legendary uncles Peyton and Eli Manning never did: make it to the state championship.

In fact, it would be Isidore Newman’s first-ever state championship appearance.

However, that quest is not off to a good start as Lafayette Christian Academy jumped out to a 28-7 start.

Arch Manning did score the only New Orleans Isidore Newman touchdown on a nifty run from inside the 10.

Manning is the No. 1 recruit in the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

He is also one of three Five-Star Plus+ prospects in the class with Alpharetta (Ga.) Milton EDGE Lebbeus Overton and Los Alamitos (Calif.) quarterback Malachi Nelson. The recognition means they are ranked as a five-star recruit by all four major recruiting media companies.

Manning entered the game with 1,869 passing yards and 26 touchdown passes on the season.

“You’re seeing a lot of things you typically see from kids who have been playing college football for a few years, but you’re seeing them from a high school junior,” Lafayette Christian Academy head coach Trev Faulk said of Manning before the game to the Daily Advertiser.

Arch Manning went viral overnight last night

Arch Manning going viral isn’t surprising. It with regularity throughout the fall that it has become as consistent as a Georgia victory every Saturday.

He went viral late Thursday and into Friday morning from a video posted on Twitter.

Someone in the video said that Manning was heading to Ole Miss, and then asked him, “Right?” Manning laughed and then said, “Right. Hotty Toddy.”

The video, while obviously not an actual commitment and just a fun video, went viral on Twitter, especially among Ole Miss fans. It even reached the Twitter account of Rebels head coach Lane Kiffin, who retweeted the post.
