Report: Georgia, Georgia Tech to play November 14 in Athens

Next season’s game between Georgia and Georgia Tech will take place on November 14th in Athens, per CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein. An early season rivalry is a nice way to tip off the 2025-26 season.
The Bulldogs are coming off a 20-13 season under Mike White, his third season at the helm. Georgia made it to the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
The team has rebuilt in the transfer portal this offseason, including landing BYU forward Kanon Catchings out of the portal back in April. He was their most recent addition.
The 6-foot-9 freshman made 15 starts in 31 appearances for BYU this season. He had a significant impact.
Catchings averaged 7.2 points and 2.2 rebounds per game. He also chipped in 0.7 assists, 0.6 steals and 0.4 blocks per contest. He shot 35.0% from 3-point range on considerable volume (123 attempts).

Georgia wasn’t the only one to add transfers. Georgia Tech had an intriguing addition in Chas Kelley, who comes over from Boston College.
In 31 games played for Boston College last year, Kelley started 15 games and played 18.8 minutes per. He averaged 4.4 points and 2.0 rebounds on the season.
Kelley joins Pacific guard Lamar Washington, Miami (OH) guard Kam Craft, and Missouri center Peyton Marshall in Georgia Tech’s 2025 transfer portal class.
Last season, Georgia Tech made it to the NIT under Damon Stoudamire, his second season. They’ll look for a jump to the NCAA Tournament this coming season.
