Scooby Williams injury update: Status of star Texas A&M linebacker revealed on Thursday injury report

Auburn and Texas A&M are set to meet in a matchup of former SEC West programs and this one will carry some serious implications. While the Aggies have gotten out to a 3-0 start to the season, the Tigers are 3-1.
A win for Auburn would reinvigorate the program after a tough loss, while a win for Texas A&M would keep it rolling toward the College Football Playoffs. So the injury report looms large.
The league announced its first such edition of the report on Wednesday night, and it gave us some key information. What else can be gleaned from Thursday’s report?
Auburn Tigers
- WR Horatio Fields – Out
- RB Durell Robinson – Out
- De Amaris Williams – Questionable
- OL Connor Lew – Questionable
Texas A&M Aggies
- DB Bryce Anderson – Out
- LB Scooby Williams – Questionable
While Auburn has a good deal more names on the list than Texas A&M, the Aggies have a big one in linebacker Scooby Williams. The former Florida transfer has been excellent and a huge part of the team’s defense.
If he can go, Texas A&M instantly gets some extra help stopping the Auburn offense. It will be needed.

On the other side, one of Auburn’s better players has already been ruled out for the contest. That’s wide receiver Horatio Fields, who Hugh Freeze revealed suffered an unfortunate injury during practice.
Fields suffered a broken foot in Tuesday’s practice, according to Freeze. Fields is expected to undergo season-ending surgery on Thursday and will miss the Texas A&M game.
“Unfortunately he broke his foot, he’ll have to have surgery tomorrow and that’s a huge loss for us,” Freeze said of Fields during Wednesday’s SEC Coaches Teleconference. “He was kind of the leader of that receiver room, who knew every position and gave us flexibility to do a lot of things. A difficult loss.”
The 6-foot-2 Fields, who transferred in from Wake Forest this past offseason, has provided a relatively young Auburn receiver room with much-needed experience through the first four games of the 2025 season, ranking third on the team with 12 catches for 106 yards and one touchdown.
