The 2023 SEC Spring Game schedule is out as football season begins for the offseason. Some SEC teams already began their practice schedule to prepare for the 2023 season.

Not only that, each team in the conference announced the date of their spring game in addition to the schedules. Mark your calendars SEC fans because football doesn’t seem too far away.

Below are the 2023 Spring Game dates for the SEC.

SEC Spring Game Dates

Missouri: Practice begins Feb 28. Game is March 18.

The Tigers finished 6-7 last year and lost the Gasparilla Bowl to Wake Forest. It didn’t look good at one point when Missouri was 4-6, but the team won two in a row to gain bowl eligibility. Eli Drinkwitz did a solid job over three seasons, but Year 4 could be make or break.

Auburn: Practice is Feb. 27-April 8. Game is April 8.

Auburn turned its attention to a new era under Hugh Freeze. Gone is Bryan Harsin and Freeze got another crack at the SEC after his Ole Miss stint but revival at Liberty. If he can bring the Tigers back to respectability in Year 1, it’ll be one of the better coaching jobs this fall.

Vanderbilt: Practice is Feb. 28-April 8. Game is April 8.

Clark Lea did a respectable job in 2022 with five wins following the two-win debut season. Based on the trajectory, Vanderbilt could be bowl eligible this season. It’s definitely one of the harder jobs in college football, but Lea earned his stripes over the last two seasons.

Kentucky: Practice is March 6-April 11. No game scheduled.

The Wildcats need new turf and the program announced there would be no spring game this year. Going into 2023, Will Levis is out, but former NC State quarterback Devin Leary is in. There should be no dropoff at the position going into the fall.

Florida: Practice is March 4-April 13. Game is April 13.

The Billy Napier era had its ups and downs last year. The problem was the biggest “up” happened during Game 1 against Utah. From there, there was a lot of inconsistency. If Napier can find the right quarterback and tighten up some loose ends, there’s no reason the Gators can’t climb back up the SEC East.

Arkansas: Practice is March 9-April 15. Game is April 15.

After a fantastic 2021 season, Sam Pittman and crew took a little dip in 2022. But there’s reason for optimism with a good recruiting class coming in. Then again, Arkansas plays in arguably the toughest division in football with Alabama, Ole Miss, LSU expected to be in the top three. Then there’s Texas A&M, which is everyone’s favorite talking point.

Georgia: Practice is March 14-April 15. Game is April 15.

The two-time national champions want another title, naturally. The quarterback position battle has to happen, but Kirby Smart has enough people on defense coming back and developing to give Georgia an elite chance at a three-peat. It’s never been done, but fans will get a first look at the potential this spring.

Tennessee: Practice is March 20-April 15. Game is April 15.

Tennessee was No. 1 overall at one point last year in the AP Poll. How do you top that? Do it again and stay up there. The expectations could be through the roof for Josh Heupel, but at least he has a solid replacement for Hendon Hooker at quarterback. Joe Milton looked the part in the Orange Bowl, so big things are coming for the Volunteers in 2023.

Ole Miss: Practice is March 21-April 15. Game is April 15.

Lane Kiffin has a three-headed monster at quarterback with Jaxson Dart returning and Spencer Sanders and Walker Howard transferring in. All have talent, but Kiffin needs just one to operate at a high level. Howard was a top recruit while Sanders had a great career at Oklahoma State. This should be the most fascinating quarterback battle in college football.

Texas A&M: Practice is March 20-April 15. Game is April 15.

Jimbo Fisher must have immense pressure on his shoulders. This team didn’t even make a bowl game. For a program wanting a national title, and Fisher’s previous experience winning one, it hasn’t quite worked out yet. Let’s see if all of the pieces fit in the spring and what the Aggies can do in the fall.

South Carolina: Practice is March 14-April 15. Game is April 15.

Beamer-Ball is alive and well with the Gamecocks. Head coach Shane Beamer pushed all of the right buttons in a frantic finish last year and with Spencer Rattler back, this could be the best team at South Carolina in quite a while. Buckle up because there are big expectations this fall.

Mississippi State: Practice begins March 7. Game is April 15.

Zach Arnett takes over as head coach after the passing of Mike Leach. The team basically stayed intact despite the tragic and untimely death of the well-respected and beloved head coach. Getting to the postseason should be the mark of a successful season in 2023.

Alabama: Practice TBD. Game is April 22.

Is it just us or is there not enough talk about Alabama this spring? Well, there probably will be soon with Nick Saban and company looking to get back to the College Football Playoff. The biggest storyline? How do new coordinators Tommy Rees and Kevin Steele adjust to their roles under Saban?

LSU: Practice is March 9-April 22. Game is April 22.

Brian Kelly overcame a rough start to get LSU to the SEC title game. In just his first season, Kelly passed Saban on the field and won the division. No guarantee to see that again in 2023, but Kelly could fast-track the Tigers back to national title contention before too long.
