South Carolina target, former teammate of two incoming Gamecocks: 'They got a good thing down there'

South Carolina basketball coach Lamont Paris is bringing in a four-player incoming freshman class this offseason. Dynamic scoring guard Eli Ellis, sharpshooting wing Grant Polk, athletic forward Hayden Assemian, and versatile scoring forward EJ Walker will join the program this summer. Ellis and Assemian both played for Overtime Elite’s Moravian Prep/YNG Dreamerz championship team.
South Carolina is involved with two of their younger teammates, too. Both Isaac Ellis (Eli’s brother) and Kohl Rosario have Gamecock offers. Paris offered both players during a visit this past season. Rosario, a 4-star wing, recently spoke with On3’s Jamie Shaw and talked some about USC.

Rosario holds a number of scholarship offers, but he specifically mentioned South Carolina, Oregon, Baylor, and Tennessee when talking with Shaw.
When breaking down his relationship with the Gamecocks, Rosario told Shaw, “They got Hayden (Assemian) and Eli (Ellis) both going there, two Moravian kids. They have a good culture. We visited down there, they took us to a game and into the locker room and all. Great facilities, and the atmosphere was good, too.”

From Miami, Florida, Rosario is a bouncy athlete and an improving outside shooter. Listed at 6-5, he can play either wing spot and can play bigger than his size thanks to his athleticism. The Gamecocks are expected to continue recruiting him hard, and Rosario expects to continue listening. “They got a good thing down there,” he said.
On3 ranks Rosario as the nation’s No. 91 overall player. He’s also No. 22 among shooting guards and No. 6 in the state of North Carolina.
