Arkansas quarterback Taylen Green left Saturday’s contest against Texas A&M due to a leg injury. Green was shaken up early in the second quarter after having his leg landed on during a tackle and remained on the ground for several moments as trainers tended to him.

The Razorbacks QB had to be helped off to the sideline as KJ Jackson came in to take his place. Arkansas trailed 14-6 at the time of Green’s exit.

Green was later pictured running on the sideline with a brace on his right knee, though his helmet is off. Thankfully, he returned to the field a couple of plays into the next drive.

Green immediately showed he was fine with a couple of big plays. Not only did he complete a 34-yard pass on the drive, but he also ran in a 27-yard touchdown.

The drive after that, Green tossed in a touchdown to O’Mega Blake that helped the Razorbacks cut the lead to 21-20 right before halftime. That play certainly has to inspire the team and give them plenty of momentum heading into the second half of the Southwest Classic.

Entering this contest, Green had made a case for himself as one of the best quarterbacks in the SEC with 1,654 yards passing and 14 touchdowns to five interceptions. He is also a dynamic runner with 504 yards rushing and three scores on the ground.

He’ll aim to keep up his hot streak of play in the second half as Arkansas eyes its first SEC win. Texas A&M, meanwhile, will look to tighten up on defense and avoid its first loss of the season.

Greg McElroy lists Taylen Green as potential 1st-round ‘flier’ in 2026 NFL Draft

As Greg McElroy evaluated which quarterbacks could become first-round picks in the 2026 NFL Draft, he picked Miami’s Carson Beck as one who could play his way to that level. But he also thinks Green could consider a “flier.”

That dual-threat ability is why McElroy thinks a team could think about selecting Green in the first round come April. Additionally, he’s finding success despite issues on the offensive line in Fayetteville.

“I’ve talked to several scouts, and they’re kind of enamored with this young man’s skillset,” McElroy said on SportsCenter on Tuesday. “Now, is he a traditional quarterback? Probably not. But 6-foot-6, 235 with major wheels? He’s gone over 21.5 miles per hour on the field this year. He’s a one-man wrecking crew for Arkansas.

“And while Arkansas has got issues along the offensive line at times and at defense on all three levels, he has been the engine that has given them a chance in all their games. But Taylen Green, keep an eye on him because someone might take a flier at the end of the first.”
