Taylor Lewan reacts to Sherrone Moore firing: 'The most important thing is the University of Michigan football team'
Sherrone Moore’s sudden and abrupt firing came as a shock to the entire Michigan fan base. Moore was terminated by the university on Wednesday after allegedly engaging in an inappropriate relationship with a staffer.
Taylor Lewan, co-host of Bussin’ With The Boys and former Michigan star, reacted to the news on social media on Wednesday. He initially addressed Moore’s alleged relationship.
“I don’t know about the thing with the girl. I don’t know about none of that,” Lewan said. “That’s not as none of my business. I hope whatever happened was amicable. I have no idea. I’m not even gonna comment on because it’s not the world I know enough about. All I’ll say is, is Sherrone was always good to me, treated me like a good person. I hope for the best for him and his family.”
Lewan continued, explaining that no matter who the next leader of the Wolverines will be, the national championship-level expectation remains the same. As for now, it remains to be seen who will take over Moore’s seat, but Lewan would like to know who that will be sooner rather than later.
“The most important thing is the University of Michigan football team,” he continued. “That is the most important thing in this whole entire situation. So, as I’m gathering my thoughts on who the coach should be, I’m hearing whispers about (Kalen) DeBoer, I’m hearing whisper about Lincoln Riley. You just hear whispers all over the place at the end of the day, whoever the powers, the Illuminati of University of Michigan is, they need to get their ass together, get on the same team, and just get the best guy.

“I don’t care if he’s the president of Germany, you gotta find the best guy, get him in there. … We’ve got to go get a natty. The expectation of making the playoffs and going to a natty in 2026 — it’s still right there. We just got to find who the head of this monster is gonna be.”
Lewan said that Michigan needs to find a new head coach within the next two weeks. That gives the new head coach to sit down with the current recruiting class and get ready for the transfer portal set to open next month.
For now, Michigan will move forward to the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl vs. Texas on New Year’s Eve. Kickoff for that matchup is set for 3 p.m. ET live on ABC.
