Kickoff between Arkansas and Texas A&M has been moved back to 4:30 p.m. CT due to inclement weather forecasted in Fayetteville, the Razorbacks announced. The original kickoff was slated for 2:30 p.m. local.

There is currently a severe thunderstorm watching in Fayetteville and its surrounding areas, per The Weather Channel. Storms are expected to continue through 5 p.m., but should taper off shortly after the new kickoff.

Kickoff can’t come soon enough, as both fanbases are excited to watch their favorite teams play each other on a respective campus. AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas has been the home to the rivalry matchup for the last four meetings.

It was last played on a campus in 2020 when they met in College Station. This year’s matchup is the first time it’ll be played in Fayetteville since 2013.

Texas A&M enters the Week 8 matchup undefeated — the first time the Aggies have started a season 6-0 since 2016. Meanwhile, the Razorbacks are 2-4 and have already fired former head coach Sam Pittman. Former head coach Bobby Petrino has been named the interim coach for Arkansas, a position he held from 2008–2011.

Despite this, the Razorbacks have been firing on all cylinders offensively this season. Averaging over 500 yards and five touchdowns per game, it’s been the defensive effort that has spelled disaster for the Razorbacks down the stretch.

“Offensively they’ve been playing elite football,” Aggies head coach Mike Elko said to begin this week. “They’re averaging over 500 yards a game. They’re averaging just under 40 points a game. They have the second fewest punts in the conference. They score. They score a lot.

“Obviously, Coach (Bobby) Petrino has done a phenomenal job calling offenses for a really long time. Now, as the interim head coach, returning to Fayetteville, you can imagine probably the emotion that will be into that game for him and for that team. So we will get their best.”

Despite the game being played at Arkansas, the Aggies are 7.5-point betting favorites, per BetMGM. The over/under is set at 57.5 total points.
