The 2024 On3 150 player rankings have been updated. In total, this is the eighth update for this class, debuting a top 50 in February of 2022, expanding to 75 in June of 2022, broadening to a full 150 in October of 2022, and updating the 150 starting in January of 2023. This update is based on 1) in-person evaluations from evaluation camps, preseason high school practices and workouts, and team jamboree and events from August through October and 2) continued film study and intel on prospects.

Updated 2024 Player Rankings

Since the last update in August, the On3 team has attended numerous national high school events, evaluation camps, preseason practices, workouts, and jamborees. With multiple showcases and events taking place every week(end), On3 has also collected streams and combed through the film as we ensure the maximum exposure of countless events and players.

The ranking process is a continual and often fluid one. On3 starts ranking recruits after their freshman-year travel season, before the start of their sophomore high school seasons. That recruit can look a lot different for our final ranking after their senior year championships and all-star games are played.

We have spent the last several weeks working on this 2024 update so that it will reflect the most accurate and current representation of the recruiting cycle. This work has resulted in nine players making their debut in the 2024 On3 150. We have also continued collecting data and viewings of the previously ranked players, putting eyes on them throughout the 2024 On3 150 ranking process.

These players are going through pre-season practices and are getting ready to start their senior seasons. Our next 2024 On3 150 update will come toward the middle of the high school season. With only a couple of updates left, there is still a lot of basketball to be played before this class cycle ends.

The goal of rankings at On3 is to assess a prospect’s long-term potential. As we continue forward, a player’s performance on the court and their continued growth will outweigh the earlier rankings. Again, every player’s arc is different, and each ranking is a snapshot in time.

Updated 2024 Player Rankings

Here are some storylines from On3’s sixth update of a full 150 for the 2024 class.

Grading the 2024 On3 150

The basketball player rankings scale is as follows: Five-star prospects have grades 98-100, four-star recruits have grades 90-97, and 80-89 grades are for three stars.

In this update, the first 14 prospects are five stars with a rating of 98 or higher. The players ranked No. 15 to 110 are classified as four-star prospects with grades from 90 to 97. The remainder of the 150 and position rankings are considered three-star prospects.

We aim to assess a prospect’s long-term potential, ultimately manifested by the NBA Draft. The goal of the ranking is not to assess who had the best high school career or who will be the best college player. This is why we will shoot to end each cycle with 14 five-star prospects following the lead of the NBA Draft Lottery. The vision is draft night.

Copper Flagg Remains in the No. 1 spot

Duke small forward commit Cooper Flagg held steady at No. 1 for this 2024 On3 150 ranking update. The 6-foot-8, 195-pounder first debuted as On3’s No. 1 prospect for this recruiting cycle when he announced his reclassification into the class in August. Flagg was previously On3’s No. 1 player in the 2025 class, before classifying up.

This summer, playing with his Maine United team, Flagg averaged 26.5 points, 12.2 rebounds, 5.2 blocks, 5.0 assists, and 1.3 steals while shooting 52.4 percent from the field on Nike’s EYBL E16 Circuit. In between EYBL sessions, in June, Flagg was named the MVP of the NBPA Top 100 Camp.

It has been well established that Flagg is a premier defensive prospect. We started talking about him in the Andrei Kirilenko player archetype after watching him – as a 15-year-old – lead the U17 USA Basketball team in rebounds, steals, and blocks while winning a FIBA World Cup gold medal during the summer of 2022.

Acknowledging this is not a one-to-one comparison; where Flagg’s game has really started to develop over the past eight or so months is on the offensive end of the floor. Flagg has a natural feel for the game, he is a quick processor with the ball in his hands and is able to handle and create as a secondary initiator from multiple levels of the court. Flagg throws properly weighted passes from a live dribble, either hand, in the flow of traffic. He also has good footwork in the middle game. Capable of facing up and getting into the paint, or setting up from the mid-post and creating an opportunity with go-to moves and counters.

The next tier of players is interesting. Even at this point in the recruiting cycle, there is a mixture of high-floor and high-ceiling prospects. Dylan Harper, a 6-foot-6 combo guard from Ramsey (NJ) Don Bosco Prep, comes in at No. 2. He is followed by Ace Bailey, a 6-foot-10 Rutgers commit from Powder Springs (GA) McEachern High, at No. 3, and Jayden Quaintance, a 6-foot-10 center from Raleigh (NC) Word of God at No. 4. Harper’s feel leads to continuous production. Bailey and Quaintance both have big ceilings with their size, fluidity, and developing skill sets.

Two new five-stars

For the November 2024 update of the 2024 On3 150, we had a full 14 five-stars. Two players earned their fifth star. Carter Bryant, a 6-foot-8 forward from Corona (CA) Centennial High, moved to No. 10 in the class. Derrion Reid, a 6-foot-7 wing from Napa (CA) Prolific Prep, bumped to No. 12 in the class.

Eight players make On3 150 debuts

While no players made their debuts inside the top 100, nine players were introduced to the 2024 On3 150 from the 100 to the 150 range. The highest-ranked newcomer is USC commitment, Liam Campbell. The 6-foot-5 wing from Meredia (ID) Owyhee High made his debut at No. 118.
