Carter Bryant

Scouted byJamie ShawSenior National Recruiting Analyst
PF2024 · Basketball

The flashes are very interesting for Carter Bryant. The size and length are real. As is the project-ability with his frame. He is very fluid with his movements, laterally and his vertical pop. But the production remains very inconsistent. In Phoenix the listed 6-8 forward averaged 7.8 points and 6.8 rebounds on 43.5% FG and 33% 3P. In Atlanta he averaged 12.8 points and 3.4 rebounds on 60.6% FG. The flashes will need to continue to grow into consistency, but there is a lot of natural stuff there to work with.

Personal Life

Carter Bryant is originally from Riverside, California, and he’s played high school basketball for both Fountain Valley and Sage Hill School in the Los Angeles area. Bryant did not play his freshman season at Fountain Valley because of a broken tibia, but he developed into one of the most versatile players in the Southland as a sophomore. “My favorite thing about playing basketball is the way you can express yourself when you play the game, whether it’s the way you play or the things you wear on the court,” Bryant told the Fountain Valley school newspaper in 2022. “It’s hard to explain because I’ve always been around it and it’s not like a hobby. It’s just a passion for me, so it’s just something I’ve always wanted to be the greatest at, so I just drive myself to be better.” Bryant has athletic success in his family. His father played basketball for Long Beach State, one uncle played basketball at Missouri, another uncle played volleyball at Pepperdine and an aunt played volleyball at Arizona.
