Rockledge (Fla.) offensive lineman Bryce Lovett is ready to make his decision.

The 6-foot-5, 325-pounder announced Wednesday night that he will make his commitment on his birthday, May 16. Four schools remain in contention for his pledge: Florida, Iowa State, Louisville and Missouri.

Lovett is the No. 803 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 74 interior offensive lineman and the No. 124 junior in state of Florida.

According to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Gators currently have a 98.0 percent chance at winning out. That is largely driven by an expert prediction submitted in favor of Billy Napier’s program by GatorsOnline insider Corey Bender.

“I like that they take pride in the offensive line,” Lovett previously said of Florida. “They have like six coaches just for o-line; there is a whole weight coach for the whole o-line; they just take offensive line very seriously here. … It’s just their consistency. They try just as hard as I try to build a relationship, so it makes it easy to build a bond with all of them.”

The Gators covet Bryce Lovett’s versatility

Although the 6-foot-5, 325-pound Lovett is ranked as an interior offensive lineman, the Gators envision him playing the majority of his snaps at offensive tackle.

“They know I can play tackle, but I tell them I can play everything, so they like that I’m confident and can play everything,” he said. “If I need to, they can switch me to guard and I can really play center too; I can play everything.

“They are going to start me at tackle, but if something happens, I can play guard or whatever.”

Florida currently has two commitments in the 2023 cycle and is unranked by the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings.
