Like its counterparts, the NFL draft and The Super Bowl, the NFL’s annual college combine might be on its way to being a rotating venue. ESPN NFL reporter Adam Schefter reports that a source close to the situation believes the combine will be on the move soon.

“ NFL’s contract for the combine in Indianapolis expires after this year and the combine could be held starting next year in Dallas, LA or Indianapolis. ‘Decisions to be made soon,’ said one source,” wrote Schefter via Twitter.

With the NFL’s contract with Indianapolis expiring soon, this gives other cities an opportunity to throw their hat in the hosting ring. And with Dallas being the home of the most valuable sports franchise in the world, the Cowboys, and the always star-stubbed Los Angeles, it makes sense that these two names are at the forefront.

This news could also be music to Dallas Cowboys for Executive Vice President Stephen Jones. Jones said back in February that he thinks the DFW metroplex would be a fantastic host for the event. He even discussed the possibility of Dallas being a real option as a host. Suggesting it would be great for Cowboy fans across the city to experience it in person.

“Indy has been a great host,” Cowboys COO Stephen Jones said, via the team’s website. “If the league so chooses to move it, which it sounds like they might, we’d certainly love to be at the top of the list if we can.”

Mixed reports coming out of Dallas on receiver Michael Gallup

The Dallas Cowboys are going to make major moves at wide receiver this offseason thanks to their salary cap situation. Reports have emerged that the organization will be moving on from Amari Cooper, in favor of signing free agent to be Michael Gallup to a long-term contract.

Originally, ESPN insider Adam Schefter reported Gallup and the Cowboys were “close” to striking a deal. However, a conflicting report has come out since then, with Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News saying the contract negotiations are not quite there yet. A source commented to Gehlken on the situation, saying “nothing imminent yet.”

However, Gehlken is reporting that there is still mutual interest between Dallas and Gallup and that there is still mutual interest between the two parties.
