Top 25 2024 prospects in the On3 Consensus rankings

The 2024 recruiting cycle is still in its infancy, with prospects in that class still in the process of finishing up their sophomore years. At most, they have been playing varsity football for two seasons; and for some, this is their first year on that level.

Prospects’ skill sets — and ultimately evaluations — will change drastically in the next two years. The physical transformations that happen in between sophomore and junior season are the biggest at any point in the recruiting process. That makes it challenging to nail down the truly elite prospects that deserve five-star status. Skill players typically tend to dominate the early rankings, as players on the offensive and defensive lines are still very much growing into frames at this point, according to On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power.

A number of prospects are already jumping out as national prospects though, with recruitments mirroring that. After a recent update, The On3 Consensus — a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies — has a fresh batch of rankings that includes a new No. 1 overall prospect in the class of 2024.
