Top-30 EDGE Elijah Rushing sets commitment date

Early July is set to be a time full of commitments and one of the nation’s top pass-rushers will also come off of the board the first week of the month. Tucson (Ariz.) Salpointe Catholic four-star EDGE Elijah Rushing will make his college decision July 6 at 5 p.m. ET.

Rushing will be choosing between Arizona, Notre Dame, Oregon and Tennessee.

The 6-foot-6, 225-pounder is the No. 30 overall prospect and No. 4 EDGE in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 1 player in Arizona.

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM), Oregon sits with a commanding lead in Rushing’s recruitment. The Ducks sit with a 70.5% chance to land his pledge.

“The relationships are probably the biggest thing to me with Oregon,” Rushing recently told ScoopDuck. “That’s one of the biggest things about my recruitment. And Oregon has done a great job building those relationships with me and my family.”

Rushing visited each of his final four schools in June for official visit. He was at Arizona on June 2, Notre Dame on June 9, Oregon on June 16 and Tennessee June 23.

“The biggest thing is relationships, seeing what those people are like,” Rushing told On3’s Chad Simmons in May. “Seeing what it’s like to be at these places, seeing what it’s like to be a Duck, what’s it’s like to be a Husky or Vol or one of the Fighting Irish is important. I want to see those types of things, what it is like to be that player, to be in that environment day-to-day.”
