There are many college shooting guards who are capable of playing at the next level. This year a handful of guards entered their name into the NBA draft but ultimately chose to stay in college basketball. Here are five of the top shooting guards in the country.

Johnny Juzang, UCLA Bruins

Johnny Juzang is a 6-foot-7, 210-pound shooting guard who went from averaging 4.4 points off Kentucky’s bench to averaging 16 points at UCLA. Last year, he lead his Bruins to the Final Four. In the 2021 NCAA tournament, Juzang hit every clutch shot that his team needed. Juzang is the dream shooting guard every coach wants. Last year he shot 38% from the 3-point line in the conference. The Bruins will need his shooting to make another deep run in the NCAA Tournament.

Ochai Agbaji, Kansas Jayhawks

Ochai Agbaji is a 6-5, 210-pound shooting guard who averaged 14.1 points for the Kansas Jayhawks while shooting 37% from 3. Agbaji has a quick first step and uses his NBA size and frame to blow by defenders. He has all the tools to be one of the best shooting guards in the country.

Jaden Ivey, Purdue Boilermakers

Jaden Ivey is a 6-4, 200-pound shooting guard from Purdue. Last season Ivey averaged 11.1 points but had many games where he scored more than 20. That includes his last game of the season where he poured in 26 points in a loss. Ivey can rise over defenders and get the shot he wants. This season his team will be counting on him to make big shots.

Taevion Kinsey, Marshall Thundering Herd

Taevion Kinsey is a 6-4, 185-pound shooting guard from Marshall. Kinsey is a high-flying guard who has the ability to shoot it at a high clip. Last year he averaged 19.6 points while shooting 53.6% from the field and 41.3% from the 3-point arc. Kinsey can create his own shot and scores most of his points off the dribble.  

Benedict Mathurin, Arizona Wildcats

Benedict Mathurin is a 6-7, 197-pound shooting guard for Arizona. Last year as a freshman, Benedict shot 40% from the 3-point while averaging 10.8 points and 4.8 rebounds. Benedict has NBA size and length, which allow him not only to stop and pop for open shots but also drive hard for lethal dunks at the rim.
