Tulane at Ole Moss odds: Opening point spread released for first-round College Football Playoff game

Tulane and Ole Miss are set to square off in the No. 11 at No. 6 matchup in the first round of the College Football Playoff and the odds are in! All odds and lines are courtesy of BetMGM.

These two teams already played one another this year, on September 20th. Tulane will return to Oxford after a 45-10 loss earlier this season.

But now that it’s the playoffs, it could be a bit different. Ole Miss is still a big favorite though as BetMGM has them as a 16.5-point favorite. The total was set at 51.5 points.

There’s no question Tulane and Ole Miss could be a mismatch right now. But that’s not the way head coach Jon Sumrall sees it, especially if the Green Wave clean things up.

“I’ve got my iPad loaded up, getting ready to hop on a plane to go to Gainesville for a couple days,” Sumrall said on the CFP reveal show. “I’m gonna watch that game, a couple other games on the way down probably, you know, the biggest thing I felt like on the perimeter, they out physical this and kind of manhandled us at times, and that’s on both sides of the ball. I thought their DBs were really suffocating in coverage against us.

“We had a couple of drops that were not characteristic who we typically are, and then on the perimeter of their offense, we didn’t win the 50-50 opportunities in our defensive backfield at times. So we’ve got to make sure we handle those situations on the perimeter a lot better.”
