Updated Heisman Trophy odds after Week 0

College football’s most prestigious award has yet again a loaded field of competition. Three of last season’s top-five vote-getters returned to school, including the 2021 winner, Bryce Young. But he’s not even the favorite heading into this fall. Apparently the folks in Vegas think a different returning star has a better chance to win the narrative this time around.
Below you can check out exactly who Vegas Insider tabbed as the favorite to take home the award along with the rest of the top 30 with the best betting odds to win. Take a gander:

There you have it. Ohio State’s CJ Stroud leads the way, returning as a junior after a dynamite sophomore season that saw him finish fourth in voting a year ago. Frankly, his Buckeyes may have had the most dangerous passing game in the country. With any consistency on defense, OSU would have made the College Football Playoff without breaking a sweat. Alas, an improved unit on that end could make them the team to beat this year. And another excellent Stroud season, coupled with more team success, could catapult him to the trophy.
Elsewhere, Bryce Young predictably placed second after Stroud. With Caleb Williams, Will Anderson and Bijan Robinson rounding out the top-five. Loaded year of Heisman contenders. Should be an awesome race all year long.
