Report: AJ Swann dressed out for warmups before Tennessee game

As Vanderbilt gets set to take on No. 10 Tennessee on Saturday night in the regular-season finale, needing a win to gain bowl eligibility, it may have some additional firepower available. An AJ Swann injury has sidelined the team’s starting quarterback the last two games, but he is dressed out tonight.
That news comes courtesy of Vanderbilt beat writer for the Tennessean Aria Gerson, who tweeted the news during pregame warmups.
Swann took the starting job from Mike Wright early in the season.
However, Wright has been electric the last two weeks in wins over No. 24 Kentucky and Florida, helping Vanderbilt snap a 26-game losing streak in SEC play. Wright threw for 184 yards and a touchdown against Kentucky, then threw for 108 yards and three touchdowns against Florida.
He also has some running ability, rushing 11 times for 126 yards and a score against the Wildcats before being limited on the ground against the Gators.

On the year, Wright has gone 78-of-135 passing for 946 yards and 12 touchdowns, against just four interceptions. He’s also added 63 carries for 467 yards and five scores and is likely to be involved in the ground game regardless whether Swann plays on Saturday night.
Swann is 104-of-181 passing for 1,195 yards and 10 touchdowns this season, against just two interceptions. He has not been a threat running. With AJ Swann dressed out, though, it’ll be interesting to see if he plays and how the Commodores incorporate him into the gameplan if so.
Vanderbilt and Tennessee are slated for a 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff with a broadcast on the SEC Network.
