Vanderbilt at Alabama injury updates: Friday availability report released

One of just two ranked matchups on the schedule this weekend is none other than No. 16 Vanderbilt vs. No. 10 Alabama in a Top-20 matchup from Tuscaloosa. Now, ahead of each of their second conference games on the season, the final update has been posted to their injury report from the SEC.
The SEC Availability Report shared their initial release on Wednesday before having an update on Thursday. The final one has now been released this evening ahead of kickoff tomorrow afternoon from inside Bryant-Denny Stadium.
Here’s that final listing from the SEC Injury Report for the Commodores and Crimson Tide coming into the weekend:
Alabama Crimson Tide
- LB Qua Russaw – Out
- LB Jah-Marien Latham – Out
- DL Jeremiah Beaman – Out
- DL James Smith – Out (1st half)
Vanderbilt Commodores
- CB Marlon Jones – Out
- RB Chase Gillespie – Out
- DB Brail Lipford – Out
- LB Jamison Curtis – Out
- DL Yilanan Ouattara – Doubtful
- CB Mark Davis – Questionable
The first update this week did not see any changes made for either team. Nine of ten names between the team rosters are defensive players, with only two, both for Vandy, being designated as having a chance to play with Ouattara on the defensive line being doubtful and Davis in the secondary being questionable.

As for ‘Bama, three of the players who are out will be out indefinitely or for this season in Beaman, Latham, and then Russaw as of last week after a foot surgery. Smith, though, is listed despite his being just for a half because of a suspension after being ejected for targeting last weekend in their win in Athens.
This is set to be one of the games of the day with Vanderbilt coming down for a rematch against Alabama in Bryant-Denny Stadium. And, per the conference’s report tonight, we now have a better of who’ll be taking the field as the Commodores and Crimson Tide each try to avoid their first loss in conference play in moving to 2-0 in the SEC.
