Warchant TV: Mike Norvell weekly press conference: FSU vs. East Texas A&M
FSU players had the day off from practice on Monday, a standard practice during the regular season — as well as classes with the Labor Day holiday.
FSU head coach Mike Norvell held his regularly scheduled weekly in the late morning and offered his support to freshman linebacker Ethan Pritchard who suffered a gunshot wound on Sunday and then reflected on the 31-17 win over Alabama.
“I felt we were a dominant team and it was a dominant team win,” said Norvell. “You saw speed, physicality and a team that believed.”
“What I loved about it is we won by two scores and I’m kind of pissed off it wasn’t by more.”

Florida State will face East Texas A&M next Saturday at noon inside Doak Campbell Stadium. It will be first meeting between the two programs. The Lions opened their season with a 42-13 loss at SMU
FSU has now won three of its last four season openers, all vs. teams from the SEC (2022 – LSU, 2023 – LSU, 2025 – Alabama).

FSU will begin its ACC slate on Friday, September 26th in Charlottesville against the Virginia Cavaliers. The teams last met in 2019 when the Hoos held off the ‘Noles 31-24 in Scott Stadium. Virginia opened with a 48-7 win over Coastal Carolina in Week One.
