WATCH: Texas high school football team grabs jaw-dropping championship game touchdown

The Stephenville Yellow Jackets and Austin LBJ Jaguars faced off on Friday in the Conference 4A-DI UIL State Championship football game in Texas. The game is taking place at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys. In the third quarter, Stephenville pulled off one of the craziest touchdowns you will ever see.
On first and ten inside Austin LBJ territory, Stephenville heaved up a deep ball towards the end zone and into triple coverage. Austin LBJ came down with the interception, but the play was far from over. As the Austin LBJ defensive back turned up the field for the return, Stephenville’s receiver hustled to get back into the play, knocking the ball loose.
The ball was knocked right to another Stephenville player, who walked in from ten yards out for the touchdown.
Both Stephenville and Austin LBJ entered the championship game with a perfect 15-0 record. Stephenville has controlled the game for much of the day, and the impressive effort on the jaw-dropping touchdown is a big reason behind that.

Texas football just picked up a big commitment from quarterback Quinn Ewers
Elsewhere in Texas football, the Longhorns had an impressive haul over the last week. Texas picked up commitments from Ohio State transfer quarterback Quinn Ewers, and also from talented recruit Maalik Murphy.
“We’re lucky. We got two great quarterbacks,” Sarkisian said of adding Ewers and Murphy to the Texas quarterback room. “Quinn and Malik are both fantastic players. I think the initial thought is how do you get both these guys in the same class? Well, in essence, they’re not now. Quinn being a transfer, he’s kind of a class ahead. He’s really in the ’21 class and Malik’s in the ’22 class.
“I was telling the story of really the 2016 season at Alabama. Going into 2017 when Jalen Hurts was the SEC Player of the Year. And I go on a flight to Hawaii and I go recruit Tua Tagovailoa and then I get on a plane and I fly to Florida and I go recruit Mac Jones. They both show up at Alabama and in that same quarterback room was Jalen Hurts, Tua Tagovalioa, Mac Jones. All of those three guys won championships in their own right. All of them got all the great accolades and now today, they’re three of 32 men in the world that are starting quarterbacks and face of their franchise in the NFL. So we believe in our ability to develop the quarterback and I think that both of these young men saw that.”
