Whit Weeks injury update: Latest on LSU lineabcker ahead of Texas A&M

LSU linebacker Whit Weeks is unlikely to play on Saturday against Texas A&M, sources tell On3. The first-team All-SEC linebacker in 2024 missed last week’s game at Vanderbilt and is still non-weight-bearing on his right ankle.
Weeks is fourth on the team with 10 quarterback hurries and eighth on the team with 26 tackles this season. The linebacker was listed on Wednesday night’s availability report as doubtful. Weeks is dealing with a bone bruise in his ankle.
“(Weeks) has been doing some additional treatments,” LSU head coach Brian Kelly said this week. “He’s feeling better, but we won’t know on him until later in the week.”
After being listed as “questionable” to play a week ago, Weeks did not suit up in LSU’s road loss to Vanderbilt. He had rotated more often than usual in the team’s win over South Carolina two weeks ago, which was a clear indication of Weeks battling through an injury following the team’s bye week.

Weeks, who has played 259 snaps in six games this season, has logged 29 total tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, a sack, and a fumble recovery as the team’s top starter at linebacker.
Whit Weeks saw his breakout campaign in 2024 cut short in the final game of the year when he suffered a dislocated ankle and a fractured tibia in LSU’s 44-31 win over Baylor in the Texas Bowl. Weeks underwent surgery for the injury. The current ankle injury is the opposite ankle that he injured a year ago.
If Weeks is unable to play vs. Texas A&M this weekend, expectations are that LSU defensive coordinator Blake Baker will start West Weeks and Davhon Keys at the linebacker position. The Tigers will also be without starting left tackle Tyree Adams.
