Months after signing to officially become a Georgia Bulldog, Marvin Jones has inked another important contract. On Tuesday Jones signed a NIL partnership agreement with the Classic City Collective.

The agreement was shared in a social media post from the Classic City Collective.

“Welcome edge rusher Marvin Jones Jr. to the Classic City Collective,” the post said. “The true freshman is the son of former NFL 1st rounder Marvin Jones and is ready to make his own mark here at UGA!”

Athletic success in Jones DNA. Jones’ father, Marvin Jones Sr., was a star linebacker for Florida State in the 1990s. His mother, Alex Jones, ran track at Miami and his brother, Daryl, is a cornerback at West Virginia. Even his uncle, Fred Jones, played linebacker at Florida State from 1983-1986.

Jones was one of the crown jewels of UGA’s 2022 recruiting class that finished third in the country. According to the On3 Consensus, Jones was the 20th best recruit in the country. He was also ranked as the fourth-best EDGE in the country and No. 4 in the Sunshine State. Jones played his high school football at Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) American Heritage.

He picked the Bulldogs over Alabama, USC, Florida State and a long list of other offers.

Jones currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $63,000. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets the standard market NIL value for high school and college athletes. The On3 NIL Valuation calculates the optimized NIL opportunity for athletes relative to the overall NIL market and projects out to as long as 12 months into the future.

Marvin Jones making good early impression

Marvin Jones is already generating rave reviews from his teammates in Athens.

“He’s in my position group, and I’m the most excited to see him just because when he came in, he’s a great pass rusher, good arms, great length,” UGA linebacker Nolan Smith said. “He just works so hard. He’s not one of those guys with a big head. I can work with any man like that.”
