Gradey Dick has been a freshman sensation for Kansas basketball.

He is also setting a precedent for what basketball players can achieve in the name, image and likeness space. The 6-foot-8, 205-pound small forward is projected to be a top-10 pick in this spring’s NBA Draft. But he’s using his time in Lawrence to begin relationships with major brands while paying homage to companies he has grown up with.

So far, he has inked NIL partnerships with Beats by Dre and adidas. He also has a long-running deal with Long McArthur Ford, which he helped craft the commercial for.

On Friday afternoon, Dick announced a partnership with Tommy’s Express Car Wash. With locations across the country, the Kansas freshman from Wichita is promoting the company’s app in a video released on Instagram. In the video, Dick rides through the car wash discussing the perks of using the phone app.

“Partnering with Tommy’s was a no-brainer for me,” Dick said in a statement to On3. “It has been the place where my family and I have gone for car washes for years.”

WME Sports facilitated the deal.

The Kansas star is averaging 14.7 points and 4.9 rebounds, while shooting 46.3% from the floor. He’s dropped seven 20-plus point games this season, too. The Jayhawks enter Saturday’s game against No. 9 Baylor as the fifth-ranked team in the nation.

Gradey Dick’s massive On3 NIL Valuation

With more than 275,000 social media followers and playing for the biggest brand in his home state, Dick is one of the most marketable athletes in college basketball this season. He has a $553,000 On3 NIL Valuation, which ranks in the top 10 in college basketball.

It also ranks No. 69 in the On3 NIL 100, which is the first of its kind and defacto NIL ranking of the top 100 high school and college athletes ranked by their On3 NIL Valuation.

The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets the standard market NIL value for high school and college athletes. A proprietary algorithm, the On3 NIL Valuation calculates an athlete’s NIL value using dynamic data points targeting three primary categories: performance, influence and exposure.

About On3 NIL Valuation, Brand Value, Roster Value

While the algorithm includes deal data, it does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals athletes have completed to date, nor does it set an athlete’s NIL valuation for their entire career.

The On3 NIL Valuation is publicly available. Performance, Influence, and Exposure ratings along with the athlete’s personal Brand Value Index and Roster Value Index are available only to the athlete in the “Athlete Verified” private dashboard on the On3 Athlete Network.
