Haley and Hanna Cavinder ushered in the NIL Era unlike any other collegiate athlete on July 1, 2021. The twins headed to New York City and launched their partnership with Boost Mobile through Icon Source, culminating with a major advertisement on a Times Square billboard.

There has not been much slowing down for the women’s basketball stars since then. They’ve served as the face of Name, Image and Likeness in the last 16 months. And they’ve continued to ink deal after deal, signing on with brands such as Core Hydration, Celestial Tea, Champs Sports and Core Hydration. That’s really only just a few, though.

The Cavinders are two of the most valuable athletes in the NIL Era. Haley holds a On3 NIL Valuation of $794,000 while Hanna sits right behind with an evaluation of $790,000. The massive valuations place them at near the top of the NIL rankings, too. Haley sits at No. 37 in the NIL 100 with Hanna at No. 39. Their valuations rank higher than college football stars Will Levis and Blake Corum, along with USC quarterback commit Malachi Nelson.

The duo also have two of the highest NIL valuations of any female athlete. They trail only gymnastics stars Livvy Dunne, Suni Lee and UConn basketball star Paige Bueckers.

Cavinder’s growing brand

The Cavinders opted to transfer from Fresno State to Miami this spring. And they’re not just TikTok famous. Both averaged in the double-digits in scoring for Fresno State last season. Haley earned All-Mountain West honors last season while her sister ranked 10th in the conference in scoring at 14.6 points per game.

They both said the move to South Beach was not NIL driven, but it does put them in a position to grow their brand. They’ve never played in the NCAA Tournament. The ACC women’s basketball TV package will give them more exposure than than the Mountain West’s.

Each have already signed deals with Miami booster John Ruiz‘s Life Wallet. They were also include in On3’s list of top 25 most influential figures in NIL.

Their social media platforms have continued to grow, too. In addition to their joint TikTok account — which boasts 4.1 million followers — they each have their own Instagram account with over 400,000 followers. There is a dual Instagram account, too, which has more than 100,000. Hanna holds a per post value of $10.6k; Haley’s sits at $10.7k.

They are also planning for their post-basketball career, too. They’ve been heavily featured through Champs Sports’ back-to-school campaign. And the Cavinder Twins announced their own streetwear clothing company, Baseline Team, back in January. Partnering with Fresno State alums David Vartanian and Mehdi Brahim, the twins have equity in the company. The brand’s main focus is on throwback basketball shorts, specifically the double mesh shorts popular in the 1990s.

About the On3 NIL Valuation

The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets the standard market NIL value for high school and college athletes. A proprietary algorithm, the On3 NIL Valuation calculates an athlete’s NIL value using dynamic data points targeting three primary categories:

+ Performance
+ Influence
+ Exposure

While the algorithm includes deal data, it does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals athletes have completed to date, nor does it set an athlete’s NIL valuation for their entire career. The On3 NIL Valuation calculates the optimized NIL opportunity for athletes relative to the overall NIL market and projects out to as long as 12 months into the future.
