Trey’Dez Green has become the latest Louisiana high school athlete to sign an NIL deal.

The four-star tight end in the class of 2024 has inked a partnership with Ovation for Men, a fragrance company based out of Atlanta. The top-50 recruit and the No. 2 tight end prospect has received offers from schools across the SEC.

The Louisiana High School Athletic Association approved high school athletes’ ability to profit off their publicity rights last April. Now Green has made his first move in the name, image and likeness space.

“This is my first NIL deal, and the fragrance smells great,” Green said in a statement. “The brand’s purpose and vision are aligned with my values and how I see my personal brand evolving. I’m a down-to-earth guy, and I love sports. God and my mom are what keeps me going. Those are the two most important people in my life. I just want to make them happy, that’s all.”

Ovation was founded by Shawn CrenshawFadelf Jackson and Cecil Cross. The goal was to produce a fragrance celebrating the “style, creativity, and showmanship of African-American men.”

Ovation for Men is a perfume that has a blend of bergamot, cardamom, aqua, tobacco, and vetiver with hints of amber, vanilla, and leather, according to the company’s website. Green is promoting Ovation for Men Sport, which has yet to launch.

While the terms of the contract were not disclosed, Crenshaw told On3 that Ovation plans to include Green in a number of campaigns highlighting his style and off-the-field accomplishments throughout his senior year.

A junior at Jackson, Louisiana, East Feliciana High School, Green is one of the top high school football prospects in the country, but he has also had a strong season on the basketball court. The 6-foot-6, 225-pound forward has offers from LSU for both basketball and football.

This is the second NIL deal Ovation has executed. The company previously announced a partnership with Michigan State defensive back Dillon Tatum. The brand is set to announce more deals in the coming weeks.

“Trey’Dez is a special individual,” Crenshaw said. “Not only is he outstanding on the football field and basketball court, but he is even more accomplished as a person and role model in his community. Not many players possess the character, charisma and star power like Trey’dez. He is going to be a star.

“We wanted to be the first to partner with him to amplify his accomplishments both on and off the field.”

Update on Trey’Dez Green’s recruitment

An honorable mention All-State selection at East Feliciana, Green helped his offense average better than 44 points per game for stretches last fall.

Coaches from Tennessee, Ole Miss, Alabama and LSU all stopped by East Feliciana throughout January. In the process, he picked up an offer from the Crimson Tide.

“It was unreal,” Green told On3’s Sam Spiegelman of the Alabama offer. “Literally, unreal. They gave me the offer and most of my family is Alabama fans, so they celebrated like crazy when I got the offer.”

The tight end also made a string of visits to Baton Rouge throughout the fall. Offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock has been leading the way with the four-star tight end in LSU’s backyard.

The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine currently gives a 97.6-percent chance to land Green. Ole Miss’ odds sit at 1.7 percent.

Rising On3 NIL Valuation

Trey’Dez Green currently holds an $84,000 On3 NIL Valuation. The valuation ranks in the top 170 of high school football. His On3 NIL Valuation will likely continue to rise as his recruitment ramps up and his profile grows.

The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets the standard market NIL value for high school and college athletes. A proprietary algorithm, the On3 NIL Valuation calculates an athlete’s NIL value using dynamic data points targeting three primary categories: performance, influence and exposure.

About On3 NIL Valuation, Brand Value, Roster Value

While the algorithm includes deal data, it does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals athletes have completed to date, nor does it set an athlete’s NIL valuation for their entire career.

The On3 NIL Valuation is publicly available. Performance, Influence, and Exposure ratings along with the athlete’s personal Brand Value Index and Roster Value Index are available only to the athlete in the “Athlete Verified” private dashboard on the On3 Athlete Network.
