A 15-year-old, bilingual racer from Riverside, California, could be the next big thing from America in open-wheel racing. Truly Adams really might be The Truth, as his merch says on his website. He’s already been turning heads in the lower ranks of Formula racing.

Earlier this year, Truly Adams participated in the FEED Racing Finals. FEED is a program set up by Jacques Villenueve in France. The F1 World Champion has created the program in order to eliminate financial barriers to racing and give talent and speed a chance to thrive in a sport that is dominated by big money.

In the FEED Racing Finals, Adams became the first American driver to make the podium. Adams has won World Championships in karting and is ready to start moving into the single-seater series.

Fluent in English and Spanish, Truly will be working on his French before 2026. He hopes, with his result at FEED and a little help from sponsors and donors, that he is able to race the French F4 season. It would be a big step up for him in his journey to make F1 one day. Adams is currently looking for funding.

Earlier this year, when he was still 14, Truly Adams was quickest in the Mexico F4 test. While that earned him an invite to participate in the series this year, he decided to wait and bide his time. His season debut in an open-wheel, single-seater will, ideally, be in French F4 in 2026.

Truly Adams working together with NFL star Marcus Williams

It isn’t shocking to see the success he has on the track. When he is back home, Truly Adams trains with Marcus Williams of the NFL at his MW Athletix in Corona, California. Nothing better to show Adams what it takes to be a professional athlete.

“Truly comes in to train ready to work,” Marcus Williams said in a press release about Adams. “There are no excuses, and he makes sure not to cut any corners. At MW Athletix, we put him through some of the toughest workouts, and he attacks each one with the same intensity he brings to the track. He understands the grind and that you grind to shine, shine to win, and win so you can eat.”

Over the years, there have been a number of “the next American open-wheel star!” stories in the media. In fact, NASCAR star Connor Zilisch was one of those kids as he made his way through the ranks. Obviously, he brought his skills to stock car racing, and now he’s in the process of making history.

There are a few things that even the most talented driver needs to succeed in Europe. You have to be able to communicate. Being bilingual is a great start, and Truly Adams will soon be speaking French regularly. You have to have some sort of funding as well. Sponsors such as GoPro have already committed to supporting Adams. As he continues to find success, others will join as well.

An American driver also has to be mature. These European racers are professional athletes from the age of 13 and up. Karting is massively popular; the various feeder series have regional popularity in all of these countries. The national pride and pressure put on drivers at a young age is immense. Americans are also outsiders in this kind of racing, largely. With that said, it appears that Truly is wise beyond his years and has a great support system.

Right now, Truly Adams is still developing. We don’t know what will become of him in the years ahead. However, Adams is doing everything right and more to set himself up for success. Let’s just watch and enjoy the ride, and hopefully, we’ll see Adams in an F1 seat one day.
