Brad Keselowski releases statement after undergoing surgery for broken leg
We now have it confirmed from the man himself. Brad Keselowski has had surgery to replace his broken leg he suffered while skiing. The surgery took place on Thursday, and the NASCAR driver appears to be in good spirits and recovering well already.
Brad Keselowski is likely going to be ready to race by the time the Daytona 500 comes around. This kind of leg injury typically keeps a driver out six to eight weeks. Chase Elliott broke his leg snowboarding in 2023 and missed seven races as a result.
On social media, Keselowski released a statement about the injury and his surgery. He also shared a few photos, including his new hardware.
“Life has a way of reminding you to slow down,” Keselowski said on X/Twitter. “Grateful for my family by my side, an excellent medical team, and the ability to take a few steps forward today. Focused on Daytona. Bonus – I’m now bionic!”
Based on the Daytona 500 timeline, I would say that Brad Keselowski isn’t going to be part of the Clash at Bowman Gray. We will just have to wait and see how quickly the father of four heals up during the rest of the offseason.
Brad Keselowski statement via RFK Racing
On top of Brad Keselowski’s own personal statement, he released one through RFK Racing as well. The team took incredible caution in releasing the information, given the death of Greg Biffle yesterday.

“First and foremost, our hearts remain heavy with the news of yesterday’s tragic events,” RFK Racing said in a statement. “The RFK Racing family, as well as the NASCAR community as a whole, continues to keep those close to the Biffle family and all those affected in our thoughts.
“Albeit untimely, we feel that in the interest of transparency we share RFK Racing co-owner and driver Brad Keselowski suffered a broken leg while on a ski trip with his family Thursday. Keselowski has successfully completed routine surgery, and doctors expect a quick and full recovery.”
Keselowski’s statement followed: “I’m grateful for the medical team who took great care of me and for the support system around me. My attention now is fully on recovery. I’m motivated to get back to full strength as quickly as possible and will work relentlessly to be ready for Daytona.”
Hoping for a quick and speedy recovery for Brad Keselowski. It would be great to see him ready to go by Daytona.
