Buffalo Bills-Miami Dolphins expected to be in lightning delay at halftime

Halftime of the Buffalo Bills-Miami Dolphins game is likely to be extended, per Andy Slater. Expect a weather delay due to lightning strikes within a few miles of the stadium.
However, the game ended up resuming on time. Slater eventually pointed out the lightning strike was 2.5 miles from Hard Rock Stadium, occurring at 2:31 p.m. ET.
“NFL policy reportedly says a game should be clear of lightning for 30 minutes before it resumes,” Slater wrote. “Bills-Dolphins started the second half at 2:40 p.m.”
The Bills (6-2) trailed the Dolphins (2-7) 16-0 at halftime down in South Beach. It was certainly a surprising development in the early slate Sunday.
Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa was 10-of-14 passing for 133 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. On the flip side, Josh Allen was nine-of-15 passing for 73 yards.

However, the Bills mustered nothing against the Dolphins’ defense in five drives. That included three punts, a turnover on downs and a fumble by RB James Cook.
While the first half Sunday was better, this season has been a struggle for Tagovailoa and the rest of Miami. He even called out some teammates back in October, which stunned his former coach, Nick Saban.
“I am proud of the way he handled it. But what I always try to tell our players is you never criticize another player. … I think everybody has to take responsibility for what they can control. And if you start worrying about things you can’t control, that’s going to start affecting things you can control,” Saban said Friday during his weekly appearance on The Pat McAfee Show. “I was really shocked that Tua did what he did when he threw some guys under the bus. And maybe they’re not playing the way that they should play – I’m not taking up for the guys – but you don’t say that about your teammates. But I was really proud of the way he came back and sort of took accountability for making a mistake.”
