Caitlin Clark will support the New England Patriots when the NFL playoffs kick off next weekend. On the New Heights podcast, the WNBA star was asked which team she thought would win the Super Bowl since the Kansas City Chiefs have been eliminated from playoff contention.

“I’m not cheering for anybody,” Caitlin Clark told New Heights hosts Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce. “I’m a Drake Maye fan. I think he’s been incredible.”

Clark then shared her thoughts on the teams in the NFC, specifically the San Francisco 49ers. “The [49ers] are really good. They’re all so good,” Clark stated. The (49ers) are really good, but they’re the most injured team, but they just still find a way to win, which is pretty crazy.”

Clark added, “I’ll probably be pulling for the Patriots, but I think the Rams are pretty good, too. Sam Darnold seems like a good guy, so I could root for him, too.”

The Patriots have been one of the best teams in the league all season, and Maye has been one of the keys to their success. Through 16 games, the former North Carolina star has completed 71.7 percent of his passes for 4,203 yards, 30 touchdowns, and eight interceptions with a 112.9 passer rating.

More on Caitlin Clark and the Patriots

New England is tied with the Denver Broncos for the best record in the AFC (13-3) and will be playing for the top spot in the regular-season finale this weekend. The Patriots are looking to win their seventh Super Bowl and first since the 2018 season.

The three NFC teams Clark mentioned were all from the NFC West. The Seahawks, 49ers, and Rams have won at least 11 games this season, and the division title will be on the line on Saturday night when the Seahawks battle the 49ers. Additionally, the winner of the game will also clinch the No. 1 seed and a first-round bye in the playoffs.

Regardless of who wins this year’s Super Bowl, it will likely be hard for Clark to watch since the Chiefs will not be there. Before this season, Kansas City had reached the playoffs for the last 10 years. During that run, the Chiefs have played in five Super Bowls and have won three of them, including back-to-back titles during the 2022 and 2023 seasons.
