On Sunday, the Carolina Panthers (0-2) and the Atlanta Falcons (1-1) will square off at 1 p.m. ET. The Panthers are still searching for their first win after suffering a 27-22 loss to the Arizona Cardinals last week.

It was nearly a miraculous comeback win for the Panthers, who trailed Arizona 27-3 with just over nine minutes remaining in the third quarter. In the loss, Panthers quarterback Bryce Young completed 35-of-his-55 pass attempts for 328 yards and three touchdowns, while only throwing one interception.

Young’s heroic attempt was ultimately cut short when he was sacked on fourth down with 26 seconds left in the game. Nonetheless, the Panthers showed significant improvement from their Week 1 performance.

Now, the team will look to build on that momentum as they take on the Falcons. Unfortunately, neither team will be at full-strength for the showdown. Look below to check out the inactive players for both teams.

Panthers:
WR Jimmy Horn Jr.
WR Xavier Legette
C Nick Samac
TE James Mitchell
OLB Patrick Jones II
DT Tershawn Wharton

Falcons:
WR Casey Washington
WR Jamal Agnew
CB AJ Terrell
OL Jack Nelson
DL Sam Roberts

Wide receiver Xavier Legette is the most notable name on the Panthers’ inactives list. Legette’s status for Sunday’s game was up in the air after he was limited in practice this week due to a hamstring injury.

Legette has had a slow start to this season. Last week, he finished the game with -2 receiving yards despite being targeted eight times. He is the first receiver in NFL history with negative yards on that many targets.

While Legette hasn’t exactly burst out of the starting gate this season, he showed plenty of promise in his debut campaign last year. Legette finished the 2024-25 season with 49 catches for 497 yards and four touchdowns. The Panthers haven’t lost faith in Legette.

“This is a guy I truly believe in because of the way he’s wired, the way he works at it, the way he continues to train,” Panthers head coach Dave Canales said. “It’s a matter of finding opportunities.’

“… “It’s not all on X… I have to make sure I do a great job of putting him in position to do the things that he’s shown us he can do well in the pass. So I take it personal.”

The Panthers and Falcons will clash at 1 p.m. ET inside Bank of America Stadium. The game will air live on FOX.
