Jordan Addison injury update: Kevin O'Connell reveals Vikings WR's status ahead of Week 4

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison could play this weekend against the Green Bay Packers, according to head coach Kevin O’Connell.
Addison is set to practice in a limited capacity Wednesday and could return to the field this weekend. He suffered an ankle injury in the season opener against the New York Giants.
In his lone appearance in 2024, Addison reeled in three catches for 35 yards. The second year man out of USC was a revelation as a rookie, especially when paired with Justin Jefferson.
As a rookie, Addison had 70 catches for 911 yards, 10 touchdowns and 13 yards per catch. The 2021 Biletnikoff Award winner (when he was at Pittsburgh) was seemingly a steal for Minnesota in last year’s draft.
As a member of the Class of 2020, Addison was a four-star recruit out of Frederick (M.D.) Tuscarora, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 10 overall prospect in the state, the No. 44 wide receiver in the class and the No. 235 overall prospect in the class.

Even without Addison, the Vikings improved to 3-0 with a dominating 34-7 win over the Houston Texans. There were other injury concerns when QB Sam Darnold had to exit the game. However, he only missed one play and finished the day with four touchdown passes.
“When I saw him go down in the moment, there’s the initial feeling [of concern] – because I did not see it – there’s the initial feeling there,” O’Connell said. “And then he comes back in the game.
“I’m having an absolute blast coaching him. Sam’s in a great spot. [We’re] going to have another good week of prep and keep stacking good performances.”
If Addison is back, it’ll only help Darnold Sunday against Green Bay. Pairing him with Jefferson would give any defense some nightmares.
