The Philadelphia Eagles are 3-0, thanks to their kick block unit and defensive tackle Jordan Davis. Down 27-26 with three seconds remaining in the fourth quarter, Los Angeles Rams kicker Joshua Karty lined up for a 44-yard field goal to win the game.

An Eagles defender got a hand on the football. Davis picked it up and took it the other way for a 61-yard scoop and score to give the Eagles the 33-26 victory.

Davis, listed at 336 pounds, showed off his 4.78 speed on that play. He reached a maximum speed of 18.59 MPH on the play, the fastest speed by a player over 330 pounds since at least 2017, per Next Gen Stats. It capped off quite the comeback for the reigning Super Bowl champion Eagles, who were down 26-7 at one point in the third quarter. Philadelphia scored 26 unanswered points from there to win the game.

Eagles got the best of Jordan Davis in win over Rams

Davis made the play of the game on a day where he was as active as ever. He tallied five tackles, one tackle for loss and one sack, to go along with the touchdown on special teams. The Eagles have been looking for more out of the 2022 first-round pick, and he delivered for them against the Rams.

It wasn’t all Davis, however. The Eagles had contributions across the board as their passing game finally came to life. Quarterback Jalen Hurts had three touchdowns through the air, and wide receiver A.J. Brown had his best game of the season to date with six receptions for 109 yards and a score.

Three weeks in, and you could argue that the Eagles haven’t put together a true, complete performance. They went silent on offense during the second half of the Week 1 win over the Dallas Cowboys, and the Week 2 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs was largely a defensive slugfest.

Yes, things were ugly for a while against Los Angeles. Head coach Nick Sirianni and co. will have plenty to work on coming out of it. Next week, however, presents an opportunity for the Eagles to get to 4-0 against a banged-up Tampa Bay Buccaneers squad.
