Kyle Larson won the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series Championship, and his wife, Katelyn, celebrated by shotgunning a beer. As Katelyn downed the beer, the entire No. 5 team celebrated.

Katelyn is no stranger to shotgunning beers after a NASCAR race, as she did it when Larson won the All-Star race in 2023. When speaking to NBC Sports on Sunday, Katelyn said she’ll only do it when her husband wins championships.

Larson and his wife have been married since September 2018 and have three children together. Katelyn comes from a racing family, as she’s the sister of former NASCAR driver and World of Outlaws veteran Brad Sweet.

While NACAR fans loved seeing Kyle Larson’s wife celebrating, they were surprised to see him win because Denny Hamlin dominated the race. Hamlin was one of the Championship 4 drivers along with Larson, Chase Briscoe, and William Byron. He led 208 laps of the race, but a late caution caused by Byron gave Larson the opportunity to secure the title since he finished ahead of the other three drivers in overtime.

Kyle Larson reacts to winning second Cup Series title

“We had an average car at best,” Larson said after the race. “We had the right front go down, lost a lap. Got saved by the caution. Did the wave-around. Was really bad that run. We took two tires. I was like, Oh, God, here we go. We’re going to go to the back now.

“It had a lot more grip than I anticipated. We got lucky with the final caution. I was really hoping we were going to take two again. I felt like I learned a lot on that restart, bombing one and two really hard. Thought I could do the same thing if we got another one.”

Larson won the title despite not winning a race since May. Additionally, he never led a lap in the championship race, but he did enough to win the second title of his career.

“What a year by this Hendrick Motorsports,” Larson said. “Cliff Daniels, everybody, his leadership, his complete leadership just showed that whole race. Keeping us all motivated. Always having a plan. All of that. That’s just the story of our season.”
