Layne Riggs wins Martinsville pole, full NASCAR Truck Series qualifying results

The first goal is marked off the list for tonight. Layne Riggs came in and did what he had to do, which was win the pole. His pit stall selection is going to be rough since he didn’t qualify last week at Talladega. Still, the pole position will be more than a little helpful.
This is the third time in Layne Riggs’ early career that he has won the pole. When it comes to upsetting Corey Heim for the championship this season, Riggs might be the only driver ready for the job.
Riggs doesn’t have to win tonight, but he has to score points. He also needs to hope there isn’t a surprise winner under the cutline. Well, one that isn’t him, of course.
Layne Riggs on the pole for tonight’s race at Martinsville. It’s going to be a wild and physical race as these drivers fight for the final spots in the Championship 4.
Layne Riggs has been very good on the short tracks. We know that he is going to be good again at Martinsville tonight. His pole position is going to give him a chance to earn stage points early. From there, his pit crew has to be on top of things to keep him on pace with the other leaders on pit road.

Corey Heim is always a threat to win. He’s starting P4. Gio Ruggiero, fresh off of his first career win will start P2. I think that Ty Majeski in P3 to start is going to be the one to watch. He is always great at this track and will be itching for a grandfather clock. Outside of the top-10, Brenden Queen is piloting the No. 7 Spire Chevy. Maybe a darkhorse pick to win? Layne Riggs eyeing spot in Championship 4
Coming into the race tonight, Layne Riggs is -6 points to the cutline for the Championship 4. He has to jump Ty Majeski in points and then one of Rajah Caruth, Tyler Ankrum, or Kaden Honeycutt. Daniel Hemric and Grant Enfinger are below Riggs in points, but if they win tonight, it changes the entire situation.
While the point deficit isn’t much, it is going to be hard to overcome it while these other playoff drivers are performing at a high level as well. You have to expect all of the playoff trucks will be looking to score stage points and then assess where they are at going into the final stage and whether or not they can race for the win.
If Corey Heim could pick one driver to remove from Phoenix contention right now, it would be Layne Riggs. He is the only driver to consistently go toe-to-toe with Heim this season. It has worked out at times and it has not worked out in other moments. Will Riggs advance to the Championship 4 after tonight?
