LSU at Texas A&M: Early point spread released, How to Watch
LSU travels to College Station for a Week 9 matchup against Texas A&M, which will be between programs who proved to be two of the SEC’s best through the first half of the regular season.
They’ll both look to keep their name in the pot of College Football Playoff hopefuls with a win this weekend. However, one team appears to have the edge over the other — particularly in Vegas.
Heading into game week, Texas A&M has opened as a 3.5-point favorite over LSU at home, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
The over/under point spread is set at 53.5.

Before 2011’s Cotton Bowl matchup, these two programs hadn’t met since 1995. With Texas A&M joining the Southeastern Conference’s Western Division the following season, both teams became yearly opponents. LSU won the first six matchups — not including the Cotton Bowl, which was won by LSU — while Texas A&M has come back to split the last six meetings at three wins a piece.
While LSU won last season’s matchup 42-30 thanks to the heroics of Heisman winner Jayden Daniels, but the Aggies took the win during the last meeting in College Station. In fact, the last six matchups they’ve split — only the home teams have won those games.
That means LSU hasn’t beat Texas A&M in College Station since 2016, and head coach Brian Kelly has never beat the Aggies on the road in his third season as Tigers coach.
However, history will only get them so far on Saturday as both teams continue to stake their claim to be a part of the first-ever 12-team College Football Playoff.
