There are three quarterbacks expected to go at the top of the 2024 NFL draft in Caleb Williams of USC, Drake Maye of North Carolina and Jayden Daniels of LSU.

According to ESPN insider Louis Riddick, it’s clear what order the three should be drafted in.

Riddick sees Williams as the clear-cut top choice. He also sees a gap between the No. 2 and No. 3 quarterback in the draft.

“There’s a gap from Caleb to Jayden. And then there’s a gap for me from Jayden to Drake Maye,” Louis Riddick said Tuesday on Get Up. “So I’ll tell you, this is going to be very, very interesting. But Caleb is definitely – there’s a gap – a significant gap.”

Most NFL analysts agree with Riddick that Caleb Williams is clearly the No. 1 quarterback in the draft. But there doesn’t seem to be a consensus as far as who is No. 2.

Jayden Daniels put up insane stats this past season while winning the Heisman trophy, while Drake Maye has been viewed as an eventual franchise quarterback in the NFL since passing for more than 4,300 yards and 38 touchdowns as a redshirt freshman in 2022.

Riddick was blown away by what Daniels did this past season and believes he should be the No. 2 quarterback off the board.

“Jayden Daniels is a freak show now in terms of his ability to make plays. He is fun. He is fun to watch. And look, there’s a reason why he’s the Heisman trophy winner. But Caleb is different,” Riddick said.

“For me, what’s going to be interesting here, when we eventually get further down the road and I get more information about what is Jayden like – the person, the student, the teammate – in relationship to Drake Maye. Because as far as Jayden Daniels being a playmaker and what he can do at the quarterback position compared to Drake Maye, if I didn’t know anything else about them, nothing, it’s Jayden Daniels all day long for me.”

There is still plenty of time between now and the 2024 NFL draft. The NFL combine will get underway later this month, and there are also still pro days and private workouts to come.

Perhaps Riddick changes his mind down the road and switches up his order. But it’s clear how he feels right now.

Riddick believes Caleb Williams is the No. 1 QB in the draft, Jayden Daniels is No. 2 and Drake Maye is No. 3.
